Become a Community Dancer
Join us on stage after warming up with a workshop
Community Dancers, or CDs, are those audience members who feel ready and inspired to perform with us. Don’t worry, there is no audition for CDs.
Each Juhartánc performance is preceded by a Community Dancer Workshop. These 60-75min workshops are offered by Juhartánc company dancers, and teach a segment of choreography to anyone who signs up. Workshop participants can choose to put this new knowledge into practice by joining us on stage as part of that afternoon’s performance.
Community Dancer Workshops are free for ticket holders of that day’s performance. Please have your ticket ready for when you get to the workshop, and you’ll be ready to dance! We can accommodate the first 20-30 dancers at these workshops.

Our production uses music that may change suddenly at times, please take this into account for sensory tolerance.
For the 2025 season, there is a minimum age requirement of 13 for CDs.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up to be a Community Dancer by purchasing tickets to our performances and then arriving to the posted time of the workshop. We can accommodate the first 20-30 attendees.
As part of completing the workshop, you will also confirm acceptance of our terms. These terms require you to follow choreography and to maintain professionalism while on stage. Our company insurance policy extends to you when you learn and perform with us.
How much dancing can I expect?
While Eden is a 45-minute performance, Community Dancers will only perform in the last two segments, being on stage for about 5 minutes. This way, you can enjoy the entirety of the performance prior to dancing at the end.
The choreography for the finale uses simple moves and repetition, so you don’t have to worry about learning an entire routine, or forgetting it when you step on stage.
How do I prepare for the workshop?
For the workshop, please wear comfortable clothing. You can wear socks or participate barefoot, as you are comfortable. No outdoor shoes allowed in workshops, with respect to our host venues.
Arrive on time to our workshop, so that you can participate in warming up for a safe dancing experience. Make sure you have your ticket with you as you arrive.
How do I prepare for the performance?
For the performance, we ask that you wear clothing that
is simple, without accessories
has no graphics, patterns, or designs
is tan, beige, shades of brown, or black
matches (all items similar in color, e.g. all tan or all brown)
We can answer any questions during the workshop, so that you feel ready and confident.
Can I get featured as a Fringe or Broadway dancer?
Yes, we would love to feature you! Workshop participants will be asked at the workshop if they wish to appear on our Wall of Community Dancers.
As a Community Dancer, your dancing helps us further our vision. We believe the stage belongs to everyone. Thank you for choosing to join us!
